EK THONGPRASERT Fall Winter 2010-11

EK THONGPRASERT
"Hatsu-Yume"
Fall Winter 2010-11

Ek Thongprasert's Fall Winter 10 collection is mainly inspired by Bill Viola's Hatsu-Yume video from which it's title is taken, and by the old danish tale of the Little Match Girl. Those two inspirations share the same concept of a progression towards an ideal reality. The designers makes a reflection on the less wealthy people hoping to reach a better place, having to do with what they have and so creating an original fashion by necessity, cutting up and doing collage of different found or donated garments in order to make them fit their bodies but also their personnal taste.
