HACHE

s/s 12

Softness, both as a mental and as a material quality. Dry grace translated into playfulness. Color as a compositional element. Unexpectedness as a defining note. The Hache collection for s/s 12 is charged with the energy that inhabits the blurry gap between sharp definition and soft focus. The sense of construction is rigorous, yet airy. Modularity, an intrinsic trait of the Hache ethos, becomes abstract; prints redefine the relation between line and surface. Women, as ever, are the true protagonists: the collection is a repertoire of possibilities open to individual interpretation.

The silhouette is an impalpable sign: soft and vertical, or short and dancing. The basic elements are all there, concrete and immediate both in meaning and use: precise shirts, long maxi-tee dresses, demure robes, parkas, compact jackets, Bermuda shorts. The distinction between public and private is erased: the top-trousers combos have the ease of a pajama; strapless dresses are wrapped around the torso like a sheet furtively subtracted to the bed. Torsions, gatherings, drawstrings, contrasting borders add a dry dash of frivolity. Prints create rhythm: stripes, tile and tapestry motifs, stylized flowers.

The color palette is precise: notes of blue, black, white and grey are dominant; neutral nuances of beige and brown soften the discourse only to leave space to flashes of electric color, used in whole blocks or fragmented into decorative patterns: bright blue, red, yellow, orange.

Precious and compact, materials have a soft hand: cotton, silk, leather.

A light vision of femininity.
